Is there an organised transport ?

 

For the last five years, an agreement with vai Rail allowing the kids to travail from montreal to Gaspecoast by train was reached. Monitors will accompany them for the duration of the trip or roundtrip depending on the method of transportation you chose.

This year, we are offering new train transportation methods adapted to the needs of each campers, from maritimes or other. For more information, communicate with us at the following phone numbers : 418-689-6727 or 1-888-689-6727.

Changes made following your subscription will have to be made by phone by calling us at our office during business hours, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, monday to friday.

What are the camp's policies about price reductions for families ?

 

We also offer a financial accessibility program. This program offer to you a reduction of up to 10% will be granted if you're eligible to this program. Please contact us for more informations.

Additionnally, a 10% reduction is given for each child after the first in a same family.

What kind of food diet do you offer ?

 

  • La Base de plein air de Bellefeuille must conform itself to the requirements set by the Quebec's camp association. We must satisfy the guidelines regarding the quality and hygiene required by the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (Mapaq) food inspection.

  • A balanced diet is established by a dietetician so it can satisfy all the nutriments needed by the kids 5 to 17 years old. The plates are served on a table and the kids may ask to be served as many times as they need.

Can the kids write us ? Can we send them mail and when is it handed to them ?

 

  • Kids are always happy to hear from their parents. You can write to them through ordinary mail, email or fax. You may give them pre-stamped letters and enveloppes when they leave home so they can mail it to you. They may take the time to write you during their nap time.

  • It is with great pleasure that we hand them their mail everday after meals. It is important that you write to you kids.

What is the schedule of a typical day at Bellefeuille ?

 

On a typical day, the kids usually have a schedule that looks like this :

  • 7:20am The campers wake up
  • 7:45am Clean up
  • 8:15am Reflection
  • 8:30am Breakfast
  • 9:30am Dormitory clean up
  • 10:00am Activity
  • 11:30am Games and preparation for lunch
  • 12:00am Lunch
  • 1:00pm Nap (time to read and write)
  • 2:00pm Activity
  • Swimming
  • 3:30pm Snack
  • 4:00pm Activity
  • 5:30pm Diner
  • 6:45pm Activity
  • 8:00pm Evening, singing
  • 8:30pm Preparation for bedtime (depending on their age group)
  • 9:00pm curfew

Additionnally : night games, olympics, artistic nights and themed days are on the schedule.

These special activities bring the campers to know each other better and keeps a routine from setting in. On themed days, they will learn about different cultures, the way of life and customs from different tribes and ethnic groups from different times.

Additionnally, the excursions, a very popular activity, allow the kids to come in close contact with the surrounding nature.

Sleeping outside by the sea or by a riverside or in one of gaspecoast's parks are only a few places among others that are sought after for excursions.

Do kids keep their medications with them during their stay ?

 

All medications are given to our nurse upon arriving on the camp. Parents can meet with her or phone her so she can have all the information she needs about the health of your child. Only the nurse controls the medication, she is available 24 hours a day. A medical file must be filled before arriving at the camp.

What about the Children's Fitness Tax Credit?

The government of Canada now offers a non-refundable tax discount which may reach as high as $500.00 on fees paid by parents who suscribe their children to a physical activity eligible program.

The refundable tax credit for child-care expenses is one of the tax measures intended for families. The rate of the credit is calculated on the basis of family income (as a rule, your income and your spouse's income).

When do we receive our invoices for the kindergarden services and what are the conditions for admission ?

 

The invoices are sent out at the end of december and indicate the amount that was paid for your child during his stay at the camp.

To be accepted, your child must be 16 years of age or less and be under your responsability or that of your significant other.

It is mandatory to give us the security number of the parent that will be claiming the invoice on the subscription form. Otherwise, we are not authorised to send out the invoice in regards to article 58.1 and 58.1.1 from déclaration du revenu du Québec.

What if my kid is sick ?

 

We have a nurse on site for first aid. An hospital and a clinic are 15 minutes away by car.

Our monitors have been formed to give out first aid. Because our employes are trained and havef the welfare of the children at heart, your kids are always in perfectly good hands.
